Através de uma instrumentação em que o violino é o elemento central, Penderecki simulou o alarido sonoro que resulta de um ataque aéreo... Quando vi Children of Men de Alfonso Cuarón estava longe de imaginar que esta obra-prima lá estivesse incorporada.

Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima was the gateway to non conventional or experimental world - as the musical slang advises – of the Polish Krzysztof Penderecki. Through an instrumentation where the violin is the central element, Penderecki simulated the fussy sound that results from an air strike ... When I saw Children of Men by Alfonso Cuaron was far from imagining that this masterpiece was incorporated there.
