Não é fácil explicar este álbum, talvez seja mesmo algo impossível. “the north green down”, é um tributo de Chris Hooson, fundador dos britânicos Dakota Suite [que estiveram no Festival para Gente Sentada em 2010] com Emanuele Errante, a uma familiar.

Pela situação especifica e pela sua carga emocional, estes compuseram as 18 canções, onde o piano assume uma dimensão pesada, quase de murmúrio, de um sussurrar de despedida. e o surgimento dos violinos, são pequenos fragmentos de luz que orientam na densidade da negritude.

Eye contact é o quinto álbum da banda de Nova Iorque recentemente editado pela 4AD.
Comparativamente com registos anteriores o experimentalismo cedeu algum terreno à melodia... refiro-me à melodia mais soft e fácil de captar, pois melodia, ritmos, experiências, trance, world music e muito mais combinados de forma magistral são o cartão de visita ímpar destes senhores... acho que fizeram bem em incorporar elementos pop mais acessíveis... muitas vezes só assim é que aquilo que se convencionou chamar "grande público" se desvia para conhecer uma banda que está num patamar raríssimo de qualidade.
